The Prairie Post (TPP) is a media organization dedicated to Illinois and conservative politics. With a broad focus on local, state, and national issues, TPP pursues a singular purpose: to produce intellectual, honest, and values-based content that engages readers and contributes to building a more virtuous and politically conservative Illinois.
How does TPP define “conservative”? In this context, conservativism is rooted in the American philosophy of limited government, the rule of law, free markets, civic virtue, and God-ordained individual liberty and person responsibility. It emphasizes the sanctity of faith, family, and community as the pillars of a flourishing society.
Conservatism, as understood by TPP, is not confined to any political movement such as the Tea Party or “Make America great Again.” Nor does it exclude individuals who may differ on specific policy prescriptions. Rather, it represents a philosophical foundation upon which various policies may rest, provided they share the same moral and intellectual grounding.
TPP also welcomes thoughtful voices from outside the conservative tradition, fostering open debate and challenging the intellectual isolation that too often weakens public discourse.
Founded on September 30, 2025, TPP is the creation of Seth Alan Cohen and T.J. Brown, who serve as co-founders. TPP strives to be Illinois’s premier source for conservative journalism, providing intellectually enriching, honest, and community-drive content that inspires a better and more prosperous future for the state.
